Palestinian minister of public works and housing Mufid al-Hasayneh has said that the Palestinian people are going to see soon real and positive steps on the path of the national reconciliation.
In an interview conducted with him by al-Aqsa satellite channel on Saturday Hasayneh stated that the government of Rami al-Hamdallah’s visit to Gaza would not be ceremonial or to only hold meetings and conferences but it would come to start doing its job.
Hasayneh also hailed Hamas for taking serious steps to achieve the national reconciliation and the Egyptian efforts in this regard.
The minister said that security officials from the West Bank held a successful meeting with their counterparts in Gaza on Saturday to discuss the security preparations for the reception of the government.
He affirmed that the government has serious intentions to address the problems of Gaza and intends to hold a news conference to explain its position upon its arrival.
A high-level delegation from the Ramallah-based government led by Hamdallah will arrive in Gaza next Monday to hold a cabinet meeting and start shouldering its responsibilities.
