Wednesday 27-September-2017

The Israeli Magistrates’ Court in Haifa on Wednesday rejected an appeal filed by the defense lawyers team against the detention of Sheikh Raed Salah the head of the Islamic Movement in the 1948 occupied Palestine.

Lawyer Khalid Zabarqa who is a member of Salah’s defense team has filed an appeal against the detention of Sheikh Salah that also demands his immediate release but the public prosecution rejected the appeal and insisted on extending his detention until the completion of the legal proceedings against him.

Salah affirmed when he entered the courtroom that he will remain loyal to the national constants despite the difficult circumstances he is going through.

According to a statement by the Israeli police Salah was arrested for “inciting violence” and “supporting a banned group” referring to the Islamic Movement which was outlawed by Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in November 2015 for its anti-Israel activities.
