Palestinians march in funeral of al-Qassam members

Friday 15-September-2017

Hundreds of mourners marched on Friday afternoon in the funeral of two members of al-Qassam Brigades the armed wing of Hamas Movement who were proclaimed dead on Thursday evening after two border tunnels they were inside suddenly collapsed.

Earlier Thursday al-Qassam Brigades mourned the death of Khalil al-Dumyati 32 and Yousef Abu Abed 21 and affirmed they died as they were working inside two separate tunnels.

The Brigades reaffirmed its commitment and determination to continue resistance against the “belligerent occupation forces”.

Those men died as they were preparing for defending Gaza in face of any future aggression leader in Hamas Movement Hamad al-Roqub said during the funeral.

“They have sacrificed their souls to defend their land and holy sites” adding that the men represented the “source of the nation’s honor”.

Several resistance fighters in Gaza have been killed during drills tunnel construction or others missions in the context of preparations made to confront any new military aggression by the Israeli occupation army.

Gaza’s tunnel networks or what remained of them after the Egyptian army destroyed most of them are largely used to supply highly-demanded necessities for Gaza’s two million residents under the blockade including food medicine as well as infrastructure materials like concrete and fuel.
