A delegation from Hamas Movement headed by Mousa Abu Marzouk will visit Moscow on September 18 to discuss the recent Palestinian developments spokesman of the Palestinian resistance group said Thursday.
“This visit aims at discussing the Palestinian situation and the ongoing Israeli occupation measures against the Palestinian people” Hossam Badran told Anadolu Agency.
“During the visit the situation in the Gaza Strip and the siege imposed on it for the eleventh consecutive year will be discussed” he added.
Badran went on to note that “everything Russia can offer through its position as a major country will be addressed during the visit”.
Earlier Tuesday Abu Marzouk met with the Russian ambassador to Egypt Sergei Kiribchenko.
Hamas’s official website stated that Abu Marzouk acquainted Kiribchenko on the latest developments with regards to the Palestinian reconciliation and Hamas’s efforts exerted for the sake of overcoming the obstacles on the way of achieving national unity.
Kiribchenko for his part welcomed the anticipated visit of Hamas Movement to Russia and affirmed his country’s support for the Palestinian people and their just cause. He also stressed the importance of national unity among the Palestinian factions.
