Mahdi slams Sudanese minister’s call for normalization with Israel

Friday 25-August-2017

President of Sudan’s National Umma Party Sadiq al-Mahdi has condemned recent remarks made by a Sudanese minister calling for normalizing relations with Israel.

This came during his meeting on Thursday with a delegation from the Sudanese-Palestinian Brothers Association and the Palestinian community in Sudan according to a press release issued by his office.

Mahdi expressed his dismay and regret at the remarks that were made by minister of investment who also happens to be his cousin Mubarak al-Fadel about his support for establishing relations with Israel describing his position as “racist” and “incitement against the Palestinian people.”

He stressed that the conflict with Israel is “fateful” and would not end before giving the Palestinian people their rights.

Last Sunday minister Fadel said he did not mind if his country normalized relations with Israel claiming the Palestinians including Hamas have such relations.
