Gaza pilgrims fly to Saudi Arabia through Rafah crossing for 4th day

Palestinian pilgrims continue to flock to the Rafah border-crossing with Gaza so as to fly to Saudi Arabia to perform Hajj (Greater Pilgrimage).

Director of the Palestinian border-crossing Hisham Udwan said 802 pilgrims and 330 passengers were allowed access out of Rafah crossing on Wednesday.

350 stranded passengers on the Egyptian side also passed through the crossing.

The last batch of pilgrims estimated at 530 along with 200 humanitarian cases and holders of Egyptian passports are slated to cross the passageway on Thursday.

Over the past four days some 2900 Palestinian pilgrims from the besieged coastal enclave of Gaza passed through Rafah border crossing following an exceptional four-day opening by the Egyptian authorities.
