Director of UNRWA affairs in Lebanon Claudio Cordone reiterated the agency’s commitment to delivering its assistance and protection mandate for Palestine refugees to the best of its ability.
In press remarks Cordone refuted claims on social media accusing the agency of trying to facilitate the migration of Palestinian refugees from Lebanon.
He stressed that the UNRWA categorically denies that it has an intention to conduct a census of the Palestinian refugees in Lebanon as a prelude to helping them leave the country in cooperation with donor countries and other UN organizations.
