QII rejects Israeli security measures at al-Aqsa

Thursday 20-July-2017

Al-Quds International Institution (QII) declared in a statement issued Thursday its total rejection of the new security measures set up at al-Aqsa Mosque by Israel as it reopened the holy site following a two-day closure.

Head of the Institution Yassin Hammoud underlined that there are some suspicious attempts to undermine the Palestinian people’s demands to lift Israel’s restrictions on their entry to al-Aqsa.

He called for rescinding all Israeli measures recently placed at al-Aqsa gates stressing that Awqaf Department is the sole body responsible for al-Aqsa affairs.

The QII statement came after reports revealed Israeli intention to remove newly-erected metal detectors at al-Aqsa’s gates in return of forcing a manual search on worshipers wishing to enter the Mosque.

This is an Israeli failed attempt to defuse the state of anger which is currently sweeping the Arab and Islamic world the statement read.

On the other hand Hammoud called on the media outlets not to trust Israeli sources.
