Arrests searches carried out in IOF pre-dawn raids

Monday 17-July-2017

The Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) conducted overnight and at dawn Monday violent raid and search campaigns throughout West Bank while tensions are still running high in occupied Jerusalem.

In Jenin IOF soldiers stormed overnight several neighborhoods in the eastern and southern parts of the city and erected four military checkpoints amid overflights of reconnaissance aircraft.

Local sources affirmed to the PIC reporter that several young men were stopped and searched at the checkpoints before being released after few hours in detention.

Similar raids were carried out in Anabta town to the south of Tulkarem. A young man was rounded up during the raids when dozens of Israeli forces stormed and violently searched his family house.

A military checkpoint was also erected at the entrance to the nearby town of Kafr al-Lubad amid heavy presence of IOF troops.

Along the same line a 17-year-old teenager was arrested in Qalqilia when IOF stormed the city and broke into a number of local houses.

Several locals were assaulted during the raids according to the PIC field reporter.

Meanwhile IOF soldiers stormed late yesterday Beit Einoun and Wad Khneis areas north of al-Khalil and chased Palestinian youths from Seir town.

Israeli sources claimed that the youths threw Molotov cocktails at an Israeli patrol while breaking into Seir town.

A young man was arrested while combing operations were carried out in the town.

On the other hand tension is still running high in Occupied Jerusalem after Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu decided to close al-Aqsa Mosque and to ban Friday prayer following an anti-occupation shooting incident in the Mosque.
