Arrests home break-ins reported in West Bank sweep by Israeli army

At least six Palestinians were kidnapped by the Israeli occupation army at daybreak Sunday in abduction sweeps rocking West Bank provinces.

The Israeli army claimed responsibility for the abduction of six Palestinians on allegations of involvement in anti-occupation activities.

The campaign targeted four Palestinians from Tulkarem including a Hamas activist and two ex-prisoners—Naser Abu Ayesh 17 and Faris al-Douda 18—from al-Khalil’s northern town of Beit Ummar where the Israeli forces claimed that homemade weapons were detected.

A series of makeshift ambushes and checkpoints were pitched by the occupation soldiers across Tulkarem province.

The Israeli forces rolled into Beit Ummar in five military jeeps at the crack of dawn and wreaked havoc on civilian homes

At the same time Israeli military troops stormed al-Arroub camp north of al-Khalil in seven military jeeps and ransacked the Muslim cemetery before they rummaged into Palestinian homes and commercial shops.

Several Palestinians were kidnapped by the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) at daybreak Wednesday in mass abduction sweeps rocking the West Bank.

The Israeli army claimed in a statement responsibility for the abduction of eight Palestinians from West Bank provinces. The arrestees were transferred to Israeli investigation centers pending intensive questioning.

The IOF soldiers also stormed the home of 17-year-old Amjad Maher Saleh charged with carrying out an anti-occupation stabbing at Hawara checkpoint on Tuesday and subjected his family members to exhaustive interrogation.

Eyewitnesses said the IOF cordoned off Saleh’s family home in al-Quds Street in Balata camp east of Nablus and cracked down on the inhabitants sparking violent clashes in the area. Sounds of heavy bullet fire were detected all the way through the assault.

Overnight 21-year-old Yasser Hanun from Jenin camp was kidnapped by the Israeli soldiers after he turned himself in to questioning at Salem military site.

17-year-old Kasem al-Haj was also kidnapped by the IOF as he passed through a military checkpoint set up near Kadim settlement outpost east of Jenin province.

Two Palestinians—Abdul Nasser Jaradat 26 and Kamel Jaradat 20— were kidnapped by the occupation forces from their homes in Zabouba west of Jenin.

At daybreak the IOF sealed off Jenin-Haifa thoroughfare with a makeshift checkpoint where Palestinian vehicles and civilians were subjected to intensive inspection.

At the same time 20-year-old Hudheifa Khouly enrolled at An-Najah Engineering University was kidnapped from his family home in Amateen in Qalqilya.

Meanwhile the IOF stormed Dar al-Israa library owned by the Palestinian ex-prisoner Taher Dendis near al-Khalil University.

The Israeli forces wreaked havoc on the building and seized all the laptops.

Last month the IOF stormed another branch of the library near al-Khalil municipality and ruled that it be closed for six months on claims of selling anti-occupation incitement material.

Several Palestinians including students and academics were arrested by the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) at daybreak Sunday.

A PIC news correspondent said Israeli military patrols stormed Nablus and searched dozens of Palestinian homes near An-Najah Campus before they subjected their inhabitants to intensive questioning.

Journalist Ahmed Teim a resident of Rafidia said soldiers in an IOF patrol stormed Palestinian apartments in the area after they smashed all the entrance doors in the hunt for university students.

The soldiers further ravaged Palestinian commercial shops and seized surveillance cameras.

Other Israeli military troops have been spotted near Amman Street and Joseph’s Tomb east of Nablus.

At the same time the IOF units stormed the home of the Palestinian student Ibrahim Abed enrolled at An-Najah University in Nablus’s western town of Tel.

Lecturer at An-Najah University Dr. Mustafa al-Shanar was rushed to a hospital after Israeli soldiers broke into his family home at the crack of dawn and wreaked havoc on the building his family told the PIC. Al-Shanar’s son Assem is currently being held in Israeli jails.

Meanwhile ex-prisoner Aref Ahmed Salim was kidnapped by the Israeli forces from his home in Azzoun town east of Qalqilya.

The IOF further sealed off the main entrance to the town with a makeshift checkpoint and carried out abrupt combing operations across the area.

The campaign culminated in the abduction of the Palestinian citizen Muhtada Dalal the son of the martyr Ma’zouz Dalal from his family home in Qalqilya.
