Hamas’s former chief Khaled Mishaal stressed on Tuesday evening the Movement’s commitment to boost unity in the Arab and Gulf region.
Speaking from Doha in a telephone address to an event hosted by Hamas in al-Nuseirat camp in central Gaza Strip Mishaal lauded Qatar’s pro-Palestine standpoint expressing wishes that the Gulf States would restore fraternal ties.
Mishaal denounced underway attempts to tighten the noose around Gaza’s neck saying the Palestinians will do whatever it takes to lift the blockade and pro-up resistance.
In Mishaal’s terms “Hamas stands as a prototype of anti-occupation resistance and political activism as appears in the group’s (recent) political document.” Mishaal added that Hamas will forever stand its ground despite the challenges and crises endured by the Arab region.
Mishaal’s statement is the first since the appointment of Ismail Haneyya as the group’s political bureau chairman.
