IOF arrests Palestinians in military raids

Wednesday 21-June-2017

The Israel Occupation Forces (IOF) carried out at dawn Wednesday large-scale raid and arrest campaign across West Bank and occupied Jerusalem.

Israeli military sources said that eight Palestinians were detained during the raids for being allegedly involved in anti-occupation attacks.

According to the sources two Palestinians were rounded up in Salfit while another was detained from al-Am’ari refugee camp near Ramallah.

Three more arrests were carried out in Bethlehem while two were reported in al-Khalil.

Along the same line the PIC reporter quoted local sources as saying that IOF rounded up a Palestinian from his house south of Tulkarem to the north of the West Bank.

In al-Khalil violent clashes broke out in Beit Ummar town after two locals were detained during an IOF pre-dawn raid. An Israeli soldier was slightly injured during the confrontation.

Two university students were also detained in Salfit and taken to an unknown detention center while violent raids were carried out in the nearby towns and villages.

As part of the Israeli collective punishment policy IOF soldiers stormed and violently searched houses of three slain Palestinians who were shot and killed last Friday for an alleged anti-occupation attack in occupied Jerusalem.

Father of one of the killed youths was detained during the raid under incitement pretexts which led to the outbreak of violent clashes. Several injuries were reported during the confrontation.

Meanwhile local residents in Bethlehem managed to prevent the arrest of a Palestinian woman early today after IOF soldiers stormed her house in a failed attempt to arrest her “wanted” husband who was not there.

In Jenin a young man was arrested after being summoned for investigation late yesterday.
