Hamas on Monday held the Israeli occupation authorities accountable for the tragic upshots of the reduction of power supplies to the besieged coastal enclave of Gaza.
Hamas spokesman Sami Abu Zuhri said Israel’s reduction of power supplies to Gaza at the request of the Palestinian Authority (PA) President Mahmoud Abbas will worsen the power crisis plaguing the seaside territory.
On Monday Israel Electric Corporation cut back its already limited electricity supplies to the Gaza Strip at the request of Mahmoud Abbas.
Mohammed Thabet of the Gaza electricity distribution company said Gaza’s roughly 2 million residents could expect to receive even less power.
Recently Israel’s security affairs cabinet approved a decision to trim down Gaza’s power supplies by 40%.
