Grand Mufti of Jerusalem and the Palestinian Territories and al-Aqsa Mosque preacher Sheikh Mohammad Hussein called on Palestinians to frequent al-Aqsa Mosque and Occupied Jerusalem in order to defend Muslim worshipers from Israeli attacks and offensive practices.
In a press statement on Monday he said that the Israeli repeated incursions into the holy site and attacking of worshipers and al-Qibli Mosque by Israeli Special Forces who broke its historic windows amid firing of tear gas grenades prove the Israeli aggressive policy pursued against al-Aqsa Mosque.
Sheikh Hussein underlined that al-Aqsa Mosque is for Muslims only and Israeli authorities have no right to interfere in its affairs. He warned of Israeli plans aiming at Judaizing Occupied Jerusalem and al-Aqsa Mosque.
The Grand Mufti called on local and international organizations including UNESCO as well as Muslims and Arabs to protect and defend al-Aqsa Mosque and Palestinian holy places. He also asked for taking immediate action in order to put an end to the Israeli escalated assaults at al-Aqsa Mosque and Muslim worshipers.
