IOF intensifies presence in villages west of Jenin

Saturday 17-June-2017

The Israeli occupation forces (IOF) on Friday night assaulted Palestinian citizens in four villages west of Jenin city in the West Bank and set up makeshift checkpoints at their main entrances.

Local sources told the Palestinian Information Center (PIC) that a large number of Israeli soldiers fired flares as they were combing areas near the separation wall in the villages of Rummanah Zububa Tayba and Anin.

They added that the Israeli army declared the villages and their vicinity a closed military zone thoroughly searched them and interrogated and brutalized local residents especially in Zububa and Rummanah.

They noted that the Israeli army deployed troops along Jenin-Haifa road in the area.

The Israeli occupation army claimed that its campaign in the area was aimed at preventing local young men from sabotaging the separation wall and carrying out attacks on the Salem military base.
