The Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza warned on Monday of the repercussions of the Israeli occupation authorities’ decision to reduce power supplies to the Gaza Strip.
The Ministry said in a brief statement that the “racist” decision will generate grave repercussions on the patients’ lives and public health in the Gazan society.
It held Israel responsible for the consequences of its decision to reduce the amount of power supplied to the Gaza Strip.
The Israeli cabinet decided on Monday morning to respond to the Palestinian Authority’s (PA) request to reduce electricity supplies to the Gaza Strip according to Haaretz newspaper.
The Hebrew newspaper said quoting a senior Israeli official that the cabinet adopted a recommendation by the Israeli army not to ease the blockade imposed on Hamas Movement and work in accordance with the decision of the PA president Mahmoud Abbas to reduce the funds paid by the PA for the electricity provided to the Gaza Strip.
The electricity crisis has exacerbated for several months and the Gaza power plant is completely shut down. Citizens enjoy less than 4 hours of electricity a day in the best cases.
