The Israeli settlement council has prepared a plan to construct around 67000 housing units in the western part of the occupied West Bank in order to solve the “housing crisis” in Gush Dan settlement bloc.
The plan which was made in agreement with Israeli housing minister Yoav Galant was presented in the Israeli Knesset according to the Israeli newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth
Hundreds of thousands of Israeli settlers live in about 140 illegal settlements built on land which the Palestinians want for a future state.
Despite the illegality and the international community’s disapproval of settlement construction and expansion Israel announced recently more plans to build tens of thousands of new housing units for settlers in West Bank settlements.
