250000 Muslims perform first Friday prayer in Ramadan at al-Aqsa

Over 250000 Muslims from the West Bank Gaza Strip and 1948 Occupied Palestine performed the first Friday prayer in the holy fasting month of Ramadan at the plazas of al-Aqsa Mosque amid Israeli tightened security measures.

Israeli authorities banned Palestinians who are under 50 years old from entering the holy shrine.

Israeli forces tightened its security measures at barriers and checkpoints leading to the city of Occupied Jerusalem. Meanwhile Israeli police were deployed at the entrances of and around the city.

100 Palestinians from the Gaza Strip were allowed to travel through Beit Hanoun crossing to Occupied Jerusalem in order to perform Friday prayer at al-Aqsa Mosque.
