Dozens of injuries on Friday of Anger in West Bank

Dozens of Palestinian citizens were injured on Friday afternoon in fierce confrontations with the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) in various areas of the West Bank within the activities of Friday of Anger in solidarity with the Palestinian prisoners who have been on hunger strike for the 40th day in a row.

One Palestinian was shot and injured while 9 others chocked on tear gas in the violent confrontations that broke out in Beita town to the south of Nablus city during which the IOF fired live bullets and tear gas canisters at the demonstrators who responded by throwing stones.

Eyewitnesses told the PIC reporter that the IOF arrested a Palestinian youth whose identity is not known yet during the confrontations at the entrance to the town and he was transferred to an unknown destination.

In a related context dozens of citizens and families of prisoners in Nablus performed Friday prayer in the center of the city in support for the hunger striking prisoners.

Raed Amer director of the Palestinian Prisoner Society in Nablus called for escalating the solidarity steps with the prisoners and participating in all solidarity activities held to back them.

According to the Palestinian Red Crescent Society 13 Palestinian citizens were injured with rubber bullets in clashes with the IOF at the entrance of Jericho to the east of the occupied West Bank.

One Palestinian was injured with rubber bullets and another chocked on tear gas in the confrontations that erupted in several parts of Ramallah province between the IOF and Palestinian youths.

Eyewitnesses reported that two Israeli soldiers were injured in the face and the foot after being thrown with stones in Ni’lin town to the west of Ramallah city.

Meanwhile clashes erupted in several areas of al-Khalil especially in the town of Beit Ummar.

The media activist Mohammed Awad said that the IOF fired tear gas canisters at the Palestinian citizens causing a number of suffocation cases among them and used waste water to disperse the demonstrators.

Eyewitnesses said that other clashes broke out in the center of al-Khalil city with no injuries reported adding that the IOF soldiers were intensively deployed in al-Hawawer area to the north of al-Khalil city under the pretext that a settler vehicle was attacked with stones.
