Hayya holds Israel responsible for Gaza tightened blockade

Friday 26-May-2017

Member of the Hamas political bureau in the Gaza Strip Khalil al-Hayya warned on Friday the Israeli occupation authorities against tightening the blockade imposed on Gaza and renewed his call on Fatah Movement to implement the previous agreements in order to complete national reconciliation.

This was voiced during the Friday sermon which Hayya delivered following the opening of a mosque in al-Zawaida area in the central Gaza Strip which was named after the Qassam commander Mazen Fuqaha who was assassinated by Israeli agents on 24th March 2017.

According to Anadolu Agency Hayya held Israel responsible for all crises resulting from tightening the blockade.

Hamas Movement warned Israel on Thursday against tightening the Gaza blockade in response to a decision by the Israeli occupation authorities to reduce the amount of power provided to Gaza which means furthering the power crisis with 18 hours of power outage a day.

Hayya renewed his call on Fatah Movement to implement what was agreed upon in the reconciliation agreement in accordance with the national program which includes ending the occupation the return of refugees self-determination and the establishment of a Palestinian state.

In another context Hayya said that the security and military battle with Israel was renewed with the assassination of Fuqaha affirming that the execution of the three collaborators involved in the crime was “a painful blow to Israel”.

The Gaza Ministry of Interior executed three collaborators involved in the assassination of Fuqaha on Thursday after a military court sentenced them to death.

Hayya emphasized that the Palestinian resistance against the Israeli occupation is legitimate in response to the statements of the US president Donald Trump in the Arab-Islamic-American summit in Riyadh last Sunday in which he labeled Hamas as terrorist.
