Awad Abu Madkour head of Hajj and Umrah travel agencies society in Gaza Strip announced the failure of Umrah season for the third year in a row due to the closure of Rafah border crossing.
In an exclusive statement to the PIC Abu Madkour said the Gaza siege and internal division are the two main reasons of the failure of Umrah season for three consecutive years.
“Until now there is no approval from the Egyptian authorities for opening Rafah crossing for the travel of Umrah pilgrims to Saudi Arabia” Abu Madkour stated.
Abu Madkour revealed that the failure of Umrah season for three successive years led to the closure of 79 Haj and Umrah companies in the besieged Gaza Strip.
