Arrests and confrontations in West Bank

The Israeli occupation forces (IOF) launched on Monday night an arrest campaign that lasted until dawn on Tuesday in a number of cities and towns in the West Bank amid confrontations between Palestinian youths and IOF soldiers.

The PIC reporter said that the IOF arrested two Palestinian youths from Tell town to the west of Nablus city.

Eyewitnesses reported that more than 15 Israeli military vehicles stormed Tell town where the IOF soldiers launched a large-scale search campaign against the Palestinian citizens’ houses. Violent clashes broke out in which heavy firing of sound and gas bombs were witnessed before the two youths were arrested.

A large Israeli force raided Balata refugee camp to the east of Nablus city searched a number of houses and stationed on their roofs. The Palestinian youths responded by throwing stones at the IOF soldiers.

Meanwhile special Israeli forces along with the Israeli intelligence stormed Yatta town to the south of al-Khalil searched dozens of houses and arrested a Palestinian woman.

Rateb al-Jabour the coordinator of the anti-settlement national and popular committees said that more than 150 soldiers raided Yatta town attacked dozens of citizens and wreaked havoc in their houses.

Other raid and arrest campaigns were launched in Azzun town to the east of Qalqilya city in which clashes with the IOF erupted.

Local sources told the PIC reporter that several military vehicles broke into the town at dawn and clashed with Palestinian youths who threw stones at them in a scene that is witnessed daily in Azzun.

They pointed out that the IOF soldiers raided four houses and arrested a Palestinian citizen.

According to the citizens an Israeli military jeep turned over during the raids which led to injuring an Israeli soldier.
