Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim Al Thani phoned Ismail Haneyya on Monday evening and congratulated him on his election as head of the Hamas Movement’s political bureau.
During their phone conversation Sheikh Tamim and Haneyya talked about the political situation and developments in the Palestinian arena as well as the challenges which the Palestinian people face every day under occupation.
According to Haneyya’s office the Qatari Emir reiterated his country’s firm positions towards the Palestinian question and its keenness on helping the Palestinians restore their national unity.
