IOF maintains the closure of Beita entrance south of Nablus

Saturday 6-May-2017

Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) have been closing the entrance of Beita town south of Nablus for the second week. The closure aims at preventing the ongoing events held in solidarity with Palestinian striking detainees in Israeli jails.

Mayor of Beita town Wasif Abu Malla told Quds Press that the IOF had previously threatened to pursue security measures against the town if solidarity events continued.

The inhabitants managed over the past days to open a hole that allowed them to move in and out of the town before Israeli forces closed it last night.

The mayor Abu Malla expressed his concern over the consequences of continuing the closure.
