ISIS tightened grip on areas led by Tahrir al-Sham west of Yarmouk camp for Palestinian refugees south of Damascus and prevented civilians from entering much-needed foodstuff a rights watchdog reported.
According to a Thursday report by the London-based Action Group for Palestinians of Syria (AGPS) over recent days ISIS allowed the entry of limited quantities of foodstuff and bread.
On April 30 2017 ISIS unblocked the access road between ISIS-led sites and zones controlled by Tahrir al-Sham (formerly known as AlNusra Front) shortly after food aids were delivered by the government forces to Tahrir al-Sham affiliates.
A tough blockade has been imposed on Yarmouk by the government army and the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) – General Command (PFLP-GC) for 1386 consecutive days. Power has also been cut off for 968 days running.
Meanwhile the Syrian government forces struck residential buildings in al-Sadd Road in Daraa with a ground-to-ground missile and mortar shells resulting in heavy material damage. At the same time clashes between the government forces and the opposition outfits rocked al-Sadd’s edges.
The government forces have stepped up military offensives on opposition-led zones in southern Syria.
Al-Sadd road is home to dozens of Palestinian families along with hundreds of families displaced from the beleaguered Daraa Camp.
In the meantime over 1700 Palestinian refugee students from Syria continue to sit for exams at al-Jarmak alternative school in Yalda.
The exams are carried out under the supervision of the Ministry of Education the General Commission for Palestinian Arab Refugees and UNRWA’s Education Program.
