The Palestinian ministry of interior in the Gaza Strip on Tuesday decided to take “decisive” measures against rumor mongers who spread lies about Gaza on social media.
Spokesman for the ministry Iyad al-Bazem stated in radio remarks that such step is aimed at securing the internal front affirming that some social media activists intentionally spread rumors about Gaza in order to destabilize the Palestinian arena and provoke conflicts between citizens.
For their part the police called on all citizens to guard against social media rumors claiming the occurrence of robberies and killings in Gaza affirming they were unfounded lies.
