10 reasons why Israelis get cold feet over Palestinian hunger strike

Jordanian ex-prisoner Anas Abu Khdeir said the Palestinian mass hunger strike that has swept Israeli jails for the ninth consecutive day on Tuesday has inflicted a state of unparalleled phobia.

Abu Khdeir who had served a prison term in Israeli jails told the PIC the Israelis fear that the hunger strike would bring about:

1.A state of civil disobedience in Israeli prisons.

2.An onerous state of alert in reference to the vigilance that should be maintained by the Israeli wardens and prison authorities around the clock.

3.Simmering ad hominem campaigns by the opposition against the incumbent Israeli government.

4.The launch of human rights campaign to pressure Israel to meet the prisoners’ demands.

5.An authentic and up-do-date picture of the Israeli crimes against the Palestinian detainees.

6.Awareness-raising campaigns as regards the prisoners’ cause.

7.Popular anti-Israel protests nationwide and overseas.

8.An Upsurge in Palestinian anti-occupation moves and uprisings.

9.An explosion in Israeli jails in case a hunger striker is pronounced dead.

10. The downfall and isolation of the Israeli occupation .

Hundreds of Palestinians joined a mass hunger strike that started in Israeli jails as of April 17 to press for basic human rights and protest the abject detention conditions.

Nearly 7000 Palestinians among whom 62 women and 300 children are held in 22 Israeli lock-ups across the occupied Palestinian territories.
