The Palestinian Media Forum warned in a statement issued Tuesday against the Palestinian Authority (PA) security forces’ systematic attacks on West Bank journalists.
PA daily violations against Palestinian journalists constitute a serious turning point for media freedoms and only serve the Israeli occupation the statement added.
The statement called on Freedoms Committee and international human rights institutions to act immediately to put an end to the unjustified PA policy against journalists.
Arresting and assaulting journalists without any legal basis could only serve the Israeli occupation according to the statement calling for the immediate release of all Palestinian journalists arbitrarily held in PA jails.
