IOF troops detain PA minister at roadblock

Sunday 24-December-2006

TULKARM (PIC)– IOF troops on Saturday afternoon detained PA minister of public works and housing Abdul Rahman Zeidan for two hours at the pretext of searching his car which was done with the help of hound dogs.

Zeidan said that the soldiers at the Kufriyat road barrier at the entrance of Tulkarm city stopped his car and used dogs to search it. He accused the soldiers of deliberately impeding his passage despite their knowledge of his identity.

He denounced the intentional IOF soldiers’ humiliation of Palestinians wishing to cross those roadblocks adding “They (IOF soldiers) don’t respect women children or old people and target PA ministers and MPs despite their immunity granted by the international law”.

IOF troops manning Kufriyat and Annab road barriers to the south and east of Tulkarm had tightened their search measures of all Palestinian commuters as of dawn Saturday delaying their passage for hours as soldiers were deployed in nearby olive groves to prevent citizens from sidestepping the barriers.
