Deputy political bureau chairman of Hamas Ismail Haneyya received on Tuesday a South African envoy in his office in Gaza.
Haneyya met with South Africa’s Ambassador to Palestine Mlungisi Makalima in his office in the blockaded Gaza Strip.
Both parties held in-depth talks about the Israeli crimes against the Palestinians most notably the illegal settlement expansion the Judaization of Occupied Jerusalem and the tough blockade enforced on Gaza.
Haneyya hailed South Africa’s pro-Palestine standpoint and its support for Palestinians’ legitimate rights and national liberation struggle.
The South African Ambassador vowed unyielding back-up for the Palestinian anti-occupation struggle a position deeply rooted in the country’s history thanks to South Africa’s historic leader Nelson Mandela’s anti-apartheid activism.
“Our freedom is not complete without the freedom of the Palestinians” said the ambassador reiterating Mandela’s words verbatim.
