Al-Nukhba school parents’ council families of students and inhabitants in Sur Baher in southern Occupied Jerusalem staged a sit-in in front of the school on Sunday to protest the Israeli occupation authority’s closure order.
Loayi Bkairat the headmaster said that the protest is meant to reject the Israeli oppressive order especially after six months of the school’s remarkable work that won the admiration of all who knows it.
“An incitement campaign targeting the school had led to the closure order” Bkairat added while stressing that the school’s lawyer is pursuing all the legal procedures.
The school delivered all the needed paperwork for license and registration in 2016 Bkairat said adding “We are following the case and we seek to resume classes as soon as possible since the school includes 230 students enrolled in different grades from Sur Baher and other villages.
Meanwhile parents refused transferring their children to other schools and declared they will remain in an open sit-in until the school is re-opened.
