The family of Qiq pitches solidarity tent for their son in Doura

The family of the Palestinian journalist captive Mohammad al-Qiq Saturday evening pitched a tent in solidarity with their son who has been on hunger strike for 20 consecutive days in front of his home in Doura town in al-Khalil.

The opening of the tent was attended by hundreds of Palestinians of the al-Qiq and al-Talahmeh families along with families of other prisoners and martyrs as well in addition to MPs and political leaders.

Speeches were delivered in the event by national figures representatives of factions human rights institutions and families of martyrs and prisoners including the speech of Qiq’s wife Faiha Shalash who held the Israeli authorities responsible for his life.

Shalash underlined that her husband suffered severe inflammation in Ramleh prison hospital and he is deprived of visitation.

She underlined that Mohammad is determined to continue his hunger strike until his illegal administration detention comes to an end. Shalash called on human rights and humanitarian organizations to support her hunger-striking husband until his release.

Shalash said that solidarity events are going to be launched in all cities and towns of the West Bank starting from Saturday. The programs of the protest sit-ins which are going to be started on Sunday will be announced later on this week.
