Abbas offers Aoun the entry of Lebanese army into refugee camps

Lebanese media sources revealed that Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas offered the Lebanese President Michel Aoun a suggestion stipulates the entry of Lebanese Army into all Palestinian refugee camps in Lebanon and handling security issues.

The Lebanese reporter Ali al-Amin editor-in-chief of al-Janoubiya news website which is affiliated with Fatah Movement said on Friday that Aoun refused Abbas’s offer. The offer explains why Fatah and the PLO withdrew from the security committee in Ain al-Hilweh refugee camp just one week prior to Abbas’s arrival to Beirut he pointed out.

For his part the Fatah leader Mahmoud Issa called the offer as a suspicious invitation and appreciated Lebanon for its interest on the Palestinian Question.

Issa underlined that Palestinians in Lebanon are keen on strengthening the relation with Lebanon. “We do not object to the Lebanese sovereignty over all of its land” he said.
