Deputy Minister of Interior and National Security Major General Tawfiq Abu Naim issued on Tuesday instructions to security chiefs to increase the security measures on the Palestinian-Egyptian border to enhance border control.
This came during a tour organized by the Ministry of Interior to inspect the border between the Gaza Strip and Egypt and the work of the security services there.
The spokesman of the Ministry of Interior Iyad al-Bozom affirmed that the ministry has an established policy to maintain the security and stability of the Gaza Strip especially on the borders and ensure that no threat exists according to the website of the ministry.
Al-Bozom said that the inspection tour was to view the performance of the border security forces.
He pointed out that Major General Abu Naim inspected the border and was briefed on the efforts made by the border security forces. Abu Naim also listened to a detailed explanation on the nature of the security services’ work and their role in securing the border with Egypt.
Al-Bozom added that the deputy minister instructed security chiefs to intensify the security measures and precautions to maintain the stability of the border area.
The spokesman of the Ministry of Interior reconfirmed the ministry’s keenness on border security and maintaining stability for both the Palestinian and Egyptian sides.
