Israeli settlers level Palestinian lands in Salfit

A number of extremist settlers from Brochan settlement backed by bulldozers on Thursday morning razed a large area of Palestinian lands in the north of Bruqin village west of Salfit district to expand their settlement.

According to witnesses Israeli bulldozers levelled Palestinian lands in Bruqin town with the aim of expanding Brochan settlement.

Khaled Maali a researcher in settlements affairs in the Salfit district said in a statement today that the Israeli government had earlier announced its plans to expand the Brochan settlement with hundreds of new settlement units.

550 new housing units are expected to be built in the settlement at the expense of Palestinian agricultural lands he underlined.

Maali pointed out that Israeli army minister Avigdor Lieberman visited yesterday Ariel settlement and vowed to add new settlement units while 300 other housing units are expected to be approved by Israeli Premier Benjamin Netanyahu on Thursday.

SALFIT (PIC)– Israeli settlers on Sunday continued to level for four days agricultural lands in the north of occupied West Bank district of Salfit locals said.

Eyewitnesses affirmed that Israeli bulldozers have leveled Palestinian-owned lands in Deir Estia and Hares town east of the city to expand the illegal Rafafa settlement where several new housing units were being built.

The sources pointed out that the bulldozing has been ongoing secretly for few days in total media blackout.

Local activist Khaled Maali said that Israeli settlement construction has been ongoing around the clock in Salfit district.

SALFIT (PIC)– Israeli settlers on Wednesday leveled Palestinian lands in western Salfit city in favor of illegal settlement expansion.

A PIC journalist quoted eyewitnesses as saying that Israeli bulldozers razed Palestinian lands paving the way for setting up infrastructure to construct illegal settlement units at the expense of Palestinians’ own lands in western Salfit.

Researcher Khaled Maali warned of the swift pace with which Israeli illegal settlement activity has been progressing in the area.

Maali added that the Israeli occupation government announced sometime earlier its intent to expand the illegal Brukhin settlement by building hundreds of new settlement units on Palestinian lands and pastures.
