Staffers and students at UNRWA schools staged a sit-in on Tuesday in al-Fari’ah refugee camp in Tubas city in the occupied West Bank protesting the cuts policy pursued by UNRWA’s administration in the education sector.
The protesters gathered in front of the UNRWA office in al-Fari’ah camp demanding approval of adequate budgets for education and calling for ending the current policy.
Activist Omar Mansour said that UNRWA’s policy toward the education sector has created overcrowded classrooms with 47 students in each which is an unacceptable situation.
He called for revoking these policies which affected various sectors and threatened many facilities offering services to refugee camps.
