A visit by a Hamas delegation to Cairo culminated in agreements to uphold consultations and boost bilateral ties Hamas said late on Thursday.
The delegation led by deputy chairman of the Movement’s political bureau Ismail Haneyya and its members Moussa Abu Marzouk and Rawhi Mushtaha concluded a “fruitful visit to Egypt.”
The Hamas delegation held a series of meetings with Egyptian officials most notably the head of the General Intelligence Service Khaled Fawzi.
The two parties discussed the latest socio-political developments ways to boost bilateral ties and the Palestinian national reconciliation file.
The meeting also tackled the tragic upshots of the Israeli siege on Gaza and the security situation along the Egypt-Gaza borders.
Hamas reiterated its policy of non-interference as regards the Egyptian home affairs and its commitment to prop up Arab and Egyptian national security.
The Hamas delegation expressed hope that the visit would bring about positive moves on the ground for the Palestinians and Egyptians alike.
Hamas quoted the Egyptian official as pledging to continue consultations and partnership as regards the Palestinian cause Occupied Jerusalem Israel’s illegal settlement activity the prisoners’ affair and the blockade.
