The Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) arrested at dawn Monday 13 Palestinians including a prisoner’s mother during a large-scale raid campaign throughout the West Bank.
According to Quds Press the prisoner Ahmed Abu Sal’s mother was arrested from her house in Aroub refugee camp north of al-Khalil.
IOF claimed in a press statement that 13 “wanted” Palestinians were detained for allegedly being involved in anti-occupation attacks.
The statement pointed out that six Palestinians were arrested in Balata and Asker refugee camps east of Nablus while another young man was arrested in Azzun town east of Qalqilia.
Two more arrests were carried out in Aida refugee camp north of Bethlehem while a youngster was rounded up in Beit Fujar town south of the city.
Three other arrests were reported in al-Khalil while another Palestinian was detained south of Jenin.
The Israeli statement claimed that weapons were allegedly found in Balata camp.
Local sources affirmed that Israeli forces stormed in large numbers Balata refugee camp at 1 a.m. and arrested a youngster while a second young man was detained in Asker camp.
Two other youths were detained after IOF soldiers broke into their houses in Asker town east of the city.
Similar raids were carried out in Kafer Qalil and Beit Furik towns east of Nablus with no arrests reported the sources added.
In Jenin Israeli forces arrested a local businessman who was earlier detained for four times in Israeli jails.
IOF soldiers along with an intelligence officer also broke into the MP Ibrahim Dahbour’s house and investigated him for two hours the MP told the PIC adding that the questioning had recurred with him and other MPs.
Along the same line Israeli patrols stormed overnight Azzun town east of Qalqilia and harassed its residents.
A man was detained during the raid and taken to an unknown detention center after Israeli soldiers stormed and violently searched his house.
Dozens of vehicles were stopped for long hours at the entrance of the town.
