At least 13 Palestinian were kidnapped by the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) from the West Bank and Jerusalem at dawn Wednesday.
The Israeli occupation army claimed in a statement responsibility for the abduction of 12 Palestinians 11 among whom on allegations of involvement in anti-occupation activism.
The abduction sweep targeted one Palestinian from Nablus and another from Ramallah.
Two more Palestinians were kidnapped by the IOF from Bethlehem’s southern village of Marah Rabah while another was arrested in Husan village to the west.
The occupation soldiers further kidnapped a pro-Hamas activist from the al-Arroub refugee camp in northern al-Khalil province and three Palestinians from Dura town to the south. Other civilians were arrested by the occupation army in al-Khalil’s southern corners.
The IOF claimed to have detected a gun and combat means in southern al-Khalil.
Meanwhile an Israeli army patrol and an intelligence officer broke into Nablus’s southern town of Ourata and sealed off the main entrance to the area with a makeshift checkpoint.
Local activist Abdul Salam Awad said the occupation troops were deployed at the southern entrance to the town the main road connecting the area to its surrounding Palestinian towns and villages.
The sweep culminated in the abduction of a Palestinian youth from Alezariye town to southeast of Occupied Jerusalem.
