Director of the Palestinian side of Kerem Shalom crossing Mounir al-Ghalban confirmed on Monday the arrival of the fuel provided by the Qatari grant to Kerem Shalom crossing.
Al-Ghalban said in an exclusive statement to the PIC that on Monday morning quantities of Qatari diesel fuel were allowed access into Gaza to run the power station.
He pointed out that 600 thousand liters of Qatari diesel fuel are supposed to enter Gaza on Monday.
For its part the Energy Authority in Gaza said that it will run additional generators in the power station immediately after the arrival of sufficient amounts of fuel to reach the usual 8-hour of power program and mitigate the current electricity crisis.
The citizens in the Gaza Strip have been experiencing a severe power crisis for several weeks due to the lack of enough fuel to run the generators with only 3 hours of power per day at the best cases and 12 hours of power cut.
