The Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas described the new decisions of the Israeli Cabinet to tighten sanctions on the Palestinian detainees and keep withholding the martyrs’ bodies as “aggressive and racist”.
Hamas said in a press statement on Monday that the Cabinet’s decisions are racist par excellence and violate the international laws.
The Movement emphasized that such decisions reflect the “viciousness” of the Israeli occupation and its “fascist criminal policy” pursued against the Palestinian prisoners and martyrs over long years. It affirmed that these policies will never undermine the Palestinians’ determination or break the will of the resistance.
Hamas emphasized that these decisions will not affect the Movement’s insistence to release the Palestinian prisoners.
“To return the missing soldiers in Gaza Israel has no choice but to pay the price and succumb to the conditions of the resistance” the Movement added.
The Israeli Cabinet decreed on Sunday a series of “punitive” measures against Hamas prisoners and martyrs in a bid to pressure the Movement to release the Israeli soldiers held in Gaza.
The Hebrew newspaper Yediot Ahronot said that the “punitive plan” was unanimously approved. The plan stipulates tightening the detention conditions of Hamas’s prisoners and reducing visits to them in addition to burying the bodies of the Hamas martyrs who carried out resistance operations in the “Cemeteries of Numbers”.
The Qassam Brigades the armed wing of Hamas implied in April last year that 4 Israeli soldiers are being held by the Brigades stressing that Israel will not get any information about them without “paying the price”.
