Israeli authorities declared on Thursday intention to return fishing boats and tools which were previously confiscated over the past years by the Israeli naval forces.
Head of the Palestinian Fishermen Union in Gaza Nizar Ayyash told PIC reporter that Israeli authorities informed the Palestinian union of their intention to return 23 fishing boats.
The confiscated fishing tools will be sent back to the Gaza Strip via its sea and land borders Ayyash clarified.
The Israeli army regularly detains and opens fire on unarmed Palestinian fishermen shepherds and farmers along the Gaza borders under flimsy pretexts.
