Secretary-General of the Islamic Jihad Ziad al-Nakhala on Sunday said that Palestinian resistance groups in the Gaza Strip have achieved a great victory in their recent battle with the Israeli occupation.
Al-Nakhala in a recorded speech at an Islamic Jihad ceremony stressed that resistance and national unity are necessary in the struggle against the occupation.
Earlier in November an Israeli special force sneaked into Khan Younis city in the southern Gaza Strip and clashed with resistance fighters from the Qassam Brigades the armed wing of Hamas movement killing seven of them. An Israeli soldier was killed in the same clashes.
In another context al-Nakhala affirmed that his movement categorically rejects any agreements with Israel that drop the Palestinian people’s rights.
Al-Nakhala denounced the US administration’s biased policy which encourages Israel to commit further violations against the Palestinian people.
He praised the unity achieved among resistance groups in the Gaza Strip and described it as a great achievement that should be maintained.
The Islamic Jihad leader concluded his speech by calling on the Palestinian Authority to lift the punitive measures it has imposed on the Gaza Strip since April 2017.
