Israeli prison authorities at the Nafha jail have kept the elderly Palestinian detainee Sedki al-Zarou in an isolated cell a NGO has reported.
According to a Sunday statement by the Commission of Prisoners and Ex-Prisoners detainee al-Zarou aged 58 has been incarcerated since August 16 2002 in Israeli jails where he has been serving a 35-year sentence.
Prisoner al-Zarou has been diagnosed with life-threatening diseases most notably diabetes colon disorders gastrointestinal problems and obstructed defecation. He is also unable to stand on his feet except by means of crutches and has undergone a severe weight loss.
Al-Zarou’s family is made up of 18 members. The detainee’s father died while the former was in jail.
