A Palestinian young man was shot and killed on Monday morning by the Israeli occupation forces after he allegedly carried out a stabbing attack in al-Khalil south of the West Bank.
Palestinian Health Ministry announced that Muammar al-Atrash 42 a father of seven was fatally shot by the Israeli forces near the Ibrahimi Mosque.
The Israeli army claimed in a statement that an Israeli soldier was transferred to Shaare Zedek hospital for treatment after he was slightly injured in the attack.
According to eyewitnesses the Israeli forces left al-Atrash bleeding on the ground for a long time without allowing anyone to approach him.
A relative of the slain Palestinian told the PIC reporter that the Israeli forces detained al-Atrash’s body and refused to hand it over to his family.
Israeli soldiers were later deployed in large numbers in Tal Rumeida neighborhood and al-Shuhadaa street.
