Arrests reported as clashes erupt in West Bank

Violent clashes broke out Friday evening in Kafer Qalil town to the south of the northern West Bank province of Nablus.

The confrontation erupted when Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) violently stormed the town located near the illegal settlement of Brachat.

On the other hand a military checkpoint was erected at Nablus-Ramallah road where several Palestinian vehicles were stopped and searched.

In Tulkarem a young man was arrested in Qaffin town after being stopped at Hermesh military checkpoint. A number of Palestinian vehicles were also stopped and searched at the checkpoint.

In Qalqilia clashes erupted in Azzun and Ezbet al-Tabib to the east of the city. A young man was injured during the clashes.

Arrests reported as clashes erupt in West Bank

The Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) launched at dawn Thursday a large-scale raid and arrest campaign throughout West Bank.

In Qalqilia clashes broke out early today after IOF stormed the city and confiscated surveillance Cameras.

The PIC reporter quoted local sources as saying that Israeli soldiers were deployed in large numbers in Khallet Nofa area amid heavy fire of teargas bombs.

Tear gas inhalation cases were reported during the clashes while a local resident was detained.

Similar raids were also witnessed in Ezzun town.

In Nablus a journalist was injured while covering the confrontations that erupted in the city’s eastern part.

The clashes broke out as hundreds of settlers stormed the area under military protection.

In Jenin IOF stormed and violently searched the house of Adnan Hamarsheh a leader in Hamas Movement and confiscated his private car.

Hamarsheh who spent 15 years behind Israeli bars in different arrests was detained last May and held in administrative detention for six months.

In al-Khalil three youths were detained after storming a number of local houses in Beith Umar town north of the city.

A young man was also arrested in Takoa town to the south of Bethlehem.
