Israeli military cracks down on Palestinians’ movement near Tulkarem

Monday 8-October-2018

The Israeli occupation army at daybreak Monday tightened military grip in and around Tulkarem province in the northern occupied West Bank and blocked Palestinians’ movement inside and out.

Speaking with PIC local sources said Israeli soldiers deployed at the Anab military checkpoint west of Tulkarem have come down heavily on Palestinians and searched vehicles passing through the area in a remarkably provocative manner.

The occupation soldiers closed off al-Kurk 623 entrance gate in Deir al-Ghousoun north of Tulkarem and Gate 609 west of Ateil town. Palestinian farmers have been prevented from reaching their groves to pick olives.

Hundreds of Palestinians have been lining up outside of the two shut gates attempting to reach their olive ranches.

Israeli army troops have been stationed in the area since night time in the hunt for the alleged anti-occupation attacker who carried out the so-called Barkan attack.
