Palestinians injured arrested during Khan al-Ahmar protests

Israeli police on Friday afternoon violently quelled a Palestinian protest against Israeli bulldozers’ closure of all roads leading to Khan al-Ahmar community east of Occupied Jerusalem.

Eyewitnesses said that Israeli police officers brutally assaulted the protesters who tried to stop the bulldozers including Palestinian citizens old men and foreign activists in addition to journalists and ambulance crews.

Israeli bulldozers early on Friday started to block the roads leading to Khan al-Ahmar village in an attempt to prevent Palestinian citizens from participating in the sit-in held in the village against its demolition.

Eyewitnesses said that some protesters suffered wounds and bruises after being beaten by the police while three were arrested including a French solidarity activist.

Israeli police further prevented medical crews from providing aid to the wounded protesters or transferring them to hospitals.

Khan al-Ahmar residents and Palestinian citizens from neighboring areas were later able to re-open the village’s blocked roads.
