Badran: Cairo talks delayed for several days

Monday 27-August-2018

Member of Hamas’s Political Bureau Husam Badran on Sunday announced that Palestinian factions decided to delay Cairo talks which had been scheduled to resume Monday for several days.

Badran on Twitter confirmed Hamas’s keenness on achieving real national unity based on the 2011 understandings. “We are convinced that everything related to Gaza or other Palestinian issues must be managed by national consensus” he added.

Last week Hamas announced in an official statement that Palestinian factions had agreed to resume Cairo talks on ceasefire and reconciliation after Eid al-Adha holiday.

Head of Hamas’s Political Bureau Ismail Haneyya said in a speech on the first day of Eid al-Adha that efforts were in full swing in Egypt to break the Israeli blockade on Gaza.

He said that Palestinians in Gaza are about to turn the page of the unjust siege forever thanks to the Great March of Return and resistance.
