Report: 520 Palestinians arrested during July 2018

Palestinian human rights organizations working on Prisoner issues (The Palestinian Prisoners Society Addameer organization and The Prisoners Commission) recorded a total of 520 Palestinians detained by the Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) during the month of July 2018.

The report elaborated that of the 520 Palestinians arrested during the month of July 69 of these were children and 9 were women.

This included 122 arrested from Jerusalem; 100 arrested from the Governorate of Ramallah and al Bireh; 75 arrested from the Governorate of al-Khalil; 52 were arrested from the Governorate of Jenin; 48 were from Bethlehem; 55 were from Nablus; 15 from Tulkurm; 31 from Qalqiliya; 7 from Tubas; 8 from Salfeet; and 8 others from Jericho Governorate.

In regard to the overall figures on prisoners the number remained stable at around 6000. Of this figure 53 are female with 3 girls under the age of 18. The number of child prisoners totaled 300. The number of those being held under administrative detention is 430.

In regard to the policy of Administrative Detention there were 86 orders issued last month by the Israeli occupation. Of the 83 36 were new and the rest were renewals.
